Tom's Philosophy

For those of you who have taken the time to view this page for any reason, and have been in the HVAC contracting business for any length of time, you have heard these words; “There are no magic bullets, Step out of the box, Doing the same old thing produces the same old results.” These are just a few of those nuggets of information which I agree are true. So why should you consider me to steer you and your business? Good question? Right?

As the owner of a successful contracting company in a medium size metropolitan city of approximately 1.3 million for 15 plus years doesn’t exactly qualify me to have all the “right” answers. The business connection, coupled with a technical career in the Department of Defense and a thirty-seven year career as an aviator in the Air National Guard gives me the validity to participate in this great industry.

Since the fall of 2001 I have been in the semi-retired mode, maintaining the contractual agreement with the new owners and staying informed about the industry. I have nestled down in the mid-east hills of Tennessee and enjoying the benefits from which the company and other professions have afforded my family and I.

There is one problem with this picture; I am forever indebted to the passion that has been a part of me from the beginning of a fulfilling and wonderful experience in the HVAC industry. That passion has lead me to this point in my career.

Since monetary measures are not always a motivator for some, it is not a primary reason to see you and your company become successful by reaching those Goals (I prefer to call them Targets) that you have set. I have nothing against “making money” after all is that not why you are in this business? If there were an associate in your company who has a problem with making money, would you not want to adjust their attitude?

Here’s my pitch in a “nutshell”. All of the seminars, training secessions, distributors and manufactures concepts, franchises, ACCA, NATE and yes even consolidation are means for the betterment of the industry; BUT…..They Are Not Worth Your Recourses!! if you do not have the ability to implement them. Hence, IMPLEMETATION is the key. Webster defines the word as follows: “to provide the power and authority necessary to accomplish or put into effect.”

From time to time in our business is this not something we all have wrestled with? This is where I can assist you in the implementation process of the various facets of you HVAC business such as; Flat Rate Pricing, Office Management Systems, Menu Pricing, and my Passion, which is a World Class Maintenance Agreement Program.

We accomplish this by onsite interviews with your key associates, technicians, installers, call takers or others that you as the owner deem necessary. A full disclosure of findings will be given to you in the Window of Opportunity Report. It doesn’t end here; we continue to assist you in the areas you desire to improve with the “hands on method” which is IMPLEMENTATION. And guess what? Since I am retired, I can offer my services to you without taken out a loan or putting you or you company in financial jeopardy.

This coaching is affordable; we will tailor our services to your needs and financial abilities based on certain information and my performance. You just need to “act” on those “all so important issues.” Let us agree up-front that 90% of all established business owners have the technical know how and a general knowledge of business, which reminds me of what most owners tell me, I know what to do but it seems I never get it accomplished.” Let’s face it, you may or may not be at blame, however You the CEO must practice the “Truman Doctrine”… “The Buck Stops Here, and here is with You.

Don’t play the game “Not to loose, rather play the game to Win.” Do it today..Do not delay, take control of those needs and push yourself over the edge and hold someone accountable for implementing those systems you have a passion for; or contact me……..REMEMBER……
